Sierra Foothills Meadery
Sierra Foothills Meadery, est. 2020. Small producer of fine honey wine, made in small batches so that every bottle is made with personal attention. The environment in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains produces unique vegetation that shows in its blossoms that go into the local honey and into the mead. Before starting Sierra Foothills Meadery, meadmaker Jim Price built his skills through brewing mead, cider, and beer, winning awards in each of these categories in homebrew competitions.

Style & Specialties
Competition
Focused heavily on medalling in competitions to validate the quality of their mead.
Berry Mead
A Melomel specifically using soft berries (raspberry, blackberry, etc.).
Metheglin
Mead flavored with spices or herbs (cinnamon, vanilla, hops, etc.).
Cyser
Mead made specifically with apple juice/cider.
Melomel
The broad category for mead fermented with fruit.
Pyment
Mead made specifically with grape juice or grape must.
Traditional Mead
Honey, water, and yeast only. No added flavors.
Hydromel (Session Mead)
Mead with low alcohol content, typically designed for easy drinking and higher refreshment profile.
Sparkling Mead
Mead that is intentionally carbonated, either through secondary fermentation or forced carbonation.
Hyper-Local
Sources honey within a very tight radius of where the mead is produced and consumed.

Christmas Berry
Christmas Berry blossoms produce a bright yellow nectar and is a slower-crystallizing honey. Has a taste reminiscent of chestnuts with a pleasant herbal aftertaste.
